Madi is the Information Governance and Data Protection Officer for the National Church Institutions (NCIs) of the Church of England. The NCIs consist of multiple charitable, commercial, advisory and governance bodies within seven separate organisations.
Madi has worked in the field of data protection for over 10 years, with many years of experience in local authorities. Her background career is a mixture of higher education, training and development, change management, records management, information management and data protection. She is a Fellow of the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS), and is a Certified Information Practitioner with the Association of Intelligent Information Management (AIIM).
Madi has worked with procurement teams in both local authorities and the NCIs to establish data protection as a standard element of procurement, and at the NCIs has implemented a supplier GDPR assessment and assurance process, the use of standardised contract and data processing agreements, and the scrutiny and review and negotiation of data processing documents from 3rd parties.
Madi leads on the continuing implementation of GDPR across the NCIs, and established the Church of England Data Protection Officers’ Network, for which she provides support, guidance and training.
