Data Protection Officer
Sarah leads for London Borough of Camden on Freedom of Information Act and GDPR compliance and related information management areas and heads its Information Rights Team. Camden is a large London Borough, known for its innovative approach to problems, tacking big issues and being creative in driving change. This approach has been utilised to improve performance in Freedom of Information and GDPR access requests, with a very requester focused approach. Sarah has been involved in the Council’s preparation for and compliance with GDPR and is currently working to embed a more collaborative approach to data protection aspects of projects and initiatives. She believes in coaching and mentoring teams to allow them to grow and reach their full potential, and that barriers and silos are there only to be combatted.
Camden’s Information Rights Team has been shortlisted for Information Governance Team of the year 2019.
Sarah has worked in the Information Management area since 2012, and prior to that spent 10 years as a local government lawyer, specialising in data protection, FOI and corporate council matters. Sarah is currently working on her LLM dissertation
